If you have a book or booklet to be edited, review the Project Info Sheet page 2 to decide which editing level of service meets your needs the best. You'll also find the rates on page 2. If you aren't sure which level of service to choose, the data you give me on the Project Info Sheet will help me recommend the most appropriate service for you.
Complete the Project Info Sheet and fax it or e-mail it as an attachment. Note that this is an Adobe pdf document. If you do not have an Adobe Acrobat Reader you can get one for free here. As an alternative you can e-mail me to ask for an Info Sheet in a Word document that you can fill out and e-mail back.
Once I review your Info Sheet, I'll email you back. If your book is one which aligns with my experience and interests, I'll ask you to email your manuscript as an attachment.
When I have both your Project Info Sheet and manuscript, I will prepare your free initial consultation and quote. Please be sure to include the actual word count of your manuscript so I can give you an accurate quote or estimate. I will send you the consultation and quote or estimate in most cases within a week of receipt. After you receive them, please feel free to contact me to discuss them.
When you are ready to proceed with editing, please send half of your quoted estimate as an advance payment. I will then put your project on my schedule.
- Payment Methods: Check, cashier's check, money order, PayPal, major credit card via PayPal only.
- If you want to use PayPal (cash or credit card), let me know and I will send you a Payment Request by e-mail, containing instructions and a link for sending your payment. The Payment Request will serve as your invoice. PayPal charges me a 3% fee for their services, and that fee will be added to each of your payments.
Since I edit onscreen, I ask that you send me your manuscript as a Microsoft Word document via e-mail attachment. I no longer edit on hardcopy (printed) manuscripts.
Please double-space your manuscript and indent the first line of each paragraph at least a half inch. The margins should be one inch all around. Use the Times New Roman font (Arial or other sans serif fonts are too difficult to read while editing.) Please make sure to provide your manuscript word count on the Project Info Sheet.
Sending Manuscript Via E-Mail Attachment (or disk):
Your manuscript file must be in Microsoft Word (for PC). If you work on a Mac, please convert your manuscript to RTF or plain text prior to sending, which should enable me to edit it.
Also, I would much appreciate it if you would scan your manuscript computer file for viruses before sending it to me.
